Took this class just as a GE, but found it really interesting. 30 min lecture, 1-2 discussions with 2 replies each per week. Could tell he was interested in what he was teaching in lectures. Lectures made reading very quick, just for some more detail on the topic. Final essay is minimum 7 pages. Tests are about major ideas not irrelevant details.

He's really passionate and knowledgeable about philosophy and is just a personable dude who truly does encourage his students. He's very accessible through email and has consistent office hours if you are in need of extra help. Definitely in the upper echelon of foothill professors in my opinion so definitely try to take him.

Took this class around the time Roe v Wade was overturned; he created a curriculum around the logical arguments for/against abortion. Really pushed me to question/strengthen my beliefs through logic. Interesting material. If you read the book, you'll be fine.

Never have I had a professor get me so excited for a course I previously had no interest in. Professor teaches well, is very reasonable, and encourages discussion. Tests are refreshing as the questions are all fair enough for someone who has been paying attention in class and doing the HW.

I record a C-. Weekly, timed (20min) quizzes. 2 exams. 2 discussions per week, requires 3 posts. One 10pg paper. On the last day at midnight a quiz, exam, and 10pg paper are due. He is very picky about how questions are answered. He words the quizzes awkwardly, can be hard to understand his question. Avoid him.

There are weekly lectures that he makes that are short and describe the content well. There is a lot of reading and writing, weekly quizzes, and 2 exams. The exams were harder than anticipated but as long as you do well on the discussion questions, you have more ability to do poorly on exams.

It built me up to become a better student because of the high level of critical thinking, heavy work load, and great discussions. He will make you work for a good grade, but if you plan on going to a transferring to a top university, it's great conditioning. A fair grader.
